- Lent 2025 Bible Reading Plan
Last year, Rev. Cheryl Murphy of Holy Covenant UMC (Carrollton, TX) preached one of the most impactful Lenten sermon series I have ever encountered. She invited us to fast from anxiety, the desire to control, judgment of others, apathy, and resentment. This year, we have adopted her series for our own Lenten journey. To encourage our people to read the Bible regularly, I have created this Bible reading plan to help guide us toward a closer walk with God and a more intentional practice of discipleship. It is manageable (1 chapter a day), has continuity with the themes each week, and finishes with the powerful walk through the Holy Week. Each day offers a journaling prompt for deeper reflection. I am looking forward to following it during Lent and blogging along the way.
